I recently moved back to Québec, more specifically to Québec city and my love for food has followed me. I love: trying new recipes, cookbooks (my extensive collection is almost embarrassing ), new restaurants, cafés, bistros, food markets. I also love recreating recipes whether from the latest restaurant I have tried (maybe from a recent date night), from a favorite cookbook, or creating something altogether new using some ingredients that spark inspiration.
Cooking and creating in the kitchen have been something I have enjoyed now for many years and saw me through living in small towns where pizza and burger joints were considered regular fare and a night out. (Don’t get me wrong, there is room in my life for burgers and pizza, but sometimes a girl likes to wear heels out to dinner!) Friday nights became our (my husband and I) date night, we would create something in the kitchen we thought was restaurant worthy, enjoy plating it up in an aesthetically pleasing way, take pictures, share with friends and family whose feedback encouraged me to take this further. So here I am sharing my new food journey in Québec with all of you : restaurants, cafés, bistros, markets found in this beautiful city and how to recreate some recipes in our own kitchen because most of us can’t afford to eat out as often as we’d like.
